Terms of Service
Plain terms for a simple deal: you give a domain, the agent works every morning, you pay monthly and can leave with everything it wrote for you.
1. Who we are
Cited.today is operated by Legal entity name, to confirm, registered in Lisbon, Portugal, at registered address, to confirm ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@citedtoday.com.
These terms are a contract between you and us. By creating an account, running a first free run or paying for a plan, you accept them. If you use the service for a company, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
2. The service
Cited.today is an AI agent for content teams. Every morning it reads what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews answer to a list of buying questions about your market. When a competitor is cited and you are not, it finds the page the engines opened and sends your team one task: the article to write, with recommendations to beat that page. Four weeks after you publish, it checks whether the engines now open your page.
Depending on your plan, the agent can also draft the article for you to edit, deliver it as a pull request on your repository or to your CMS, and produce white-label briefs and monthly reports for your clients.
The service is delivered by email and through your account. We run the agent on our infrastructure; you do not need to install anything.
3. Your account and your domain
- You must own the domain you give us, or be authorised by its owner to run the agent on it.
- Keep your login details to yourself. Anything done from your account is your responsibility until you tell us it has been compromised.
- One agent runs per site. The Agency plan runs one agent per client site, under your account.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
4. Plans, billing and refunds
First run. The first run is free and needs no card. We may limit free runs per person, domain or company to prevent abuse.
Plans. Prices are in US dollars, per month, and exclude VAT or sales tax where it applies.
- Briefs: $99 per site, per month. Your team writes.
- Briefs + drafts: $199 per site, per month. We draft, you edit. This plan is in beta with a limited number of spots.
- Agency: $99 per month plus $15 per client site, per month.
Billing. Plans renew monthly and are charged in advance to the card on file through our payment processor, payment processor, to confirm. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation stops the next renewal and the agent keeps running until the end of the paid month.
Refund. Not happy after the first month, full refund, and you keep every brief and every page. Ask by email within 7 days after the end of your first paid month. After that, payments are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
Price changes. We can change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies at your next renewal after that period.
5. What you own and what we own
Yours. Every brief, recommendation, draft and article the agent delivers to you is yours. You can publish it, edit it, and keep it after you cancel. We claim no rights to your website, your content or your clients' content.
Ours. The service, the software, the methodology, the way the agent reads engines and pages, and the Cited.today name and logo belong to us. You get a licence to use the service while you have an account, and nothing else.
Licence to us. To run the agent you allow us to process your domain, your public pages and the content you give us. We use them only to deliver the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. AI engines and results
The agent queries third-party AI engines and search engines the way a user would. We are not affiliated with OpenAI, Perplexity, Google, Anthropic or Microsoft, and their answers change from one day to the next.
We cannot promise that an engine will cite you, open your page, or keep doing so. Rankings and citations depend on factors we do not control. What we commit to is the work: the daily reading, the task, the brief and the check four weeks later.
When the agent drafts an article, you review it before publishing. Check prices, names and claims; you are responsible for what you publish on your site.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not resell, scrape or redistribute the agent's output as a product of your own, except for the white-label briefs the Agency plan is made for.
- Do not use the service to publish false, defamatory or illegal content, or to attack a competitor rather than to compete with it.
- Do not try to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, or run more agents than your plan allows.
- Follow the terms of the platforms where you publish.
8. Availability, disclaimer and liability
We work to run the agent every morning, but the service is provided as is. Engines go down, pages change, and beta features can change or be withdrawn. We may change the service and will tell you by email when a change matters to you.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost revenue, lost rankings or lost data, except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending the service
You can cancel at any time from your account or by email. We can suspend or end your account if you break these terms, do not pay, or use the service in a way that harms us, other customers or the engines we rely on. If we end the service for a reason that is not yours, we refund the unused part of your current month.
After the end, you keep everything delivered to you. We delete your account data as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Law, disputes and changes to these terms
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes go to the courts of Lisbon, unless you are a consumer with the right to sue where you live. If a clause is found invalid, the rest still applies.
We can update these terms. When we do, we post the new version here with a new effective date and email you if the change is material. Using the service after the date means you accept the new terms.
